I’ve had a piece published at Healthline about the complex way internalized ableism manifests as a disabled recovering addict, and wanted to share it with you all.

It’s been some time since I’ve published anything here, in part because I’ve been working on the above article, and also due to a new opportunity to serve as a peer support specialist for young people dealing with addiction. Finding a rhythm between this new position and the rest of my life has been making it difficult to find time to write, but there are a number of ideas I know I’ll want to share. I hope to bring them to you soon.

If you think my story may speak to someone you know, please share it with them. The more we share our stories the more likely we will find those who share some of our experiences–and that is something desperately needed for disabled/chronically ill addicts. You exist and I see you. Your experience matters.

Thanks for reading.
